There had been a huge global effort to invent a cost-effective Chlorine dioxide since its first use (1944) in Niagara Fall Drinking water plant. The quest to realize this had been a long-standing challenge in theory and experiment. One that finally come to fruition by FES Scientists after nearly 16 years of research.

One of the primary purposes of the Research and Technological Development (RTD) activities was to find a cost-effective replacement of harmful Chlorine and other oxidizing biocides.  Chlorine dioxide is the most superior  eco- friendly biocide but too expensive for the utilities budget. The traditional Chlorine dioxide generation has been prohibitively expensive.

Finally cost-effective Chlorine dioxide production made possible. It took nearly 16 years of painstaking  research to overcome formidable and technological obstacles.

 

FESMX™ Cost-effective ClO2  

This unprecedented breakthrough of bringing Chlorine dioxide at a fraction of its present cost, was made possible by the  non-conventional method of generating Chlorine dioxide.

Our scientists successfully developed a cost-effective commercial Technology Platform which could accelerate the rate of chemical reaction without formation of any side products with minimum chemical inputs.

 The invention relates to the electrochemical process and the electrolytic cell structure used to manufacture chlorine-free chlorine dioxide from dilute alkali metal chlorite solutions. This proved to be very useful for the production of pure and contamination-free chlorine dioxide.

 

Multiple Trials & Testings Validation

Multiple lab trials and testing of FES Proprietary Process Technology generated Chlorine Dioxide proved to be highly effective in Drinking water treatment as well Wastewater Treatment, where it removed all forms of viruses, bacteria, algae etc. and other hazardous chemicals in the water stream with a minimum dose treatment. There was no formation of hazardous Disinfectant By Products (DBP's).
